Horseback Riding Lessons We offer horseback riding lessons for people of all ages. Our training is customized to fit each student, depending on their previous riding experience or lack of it.
Our first priority is teaching good basic riding skills. This includes learning how to balance properly, how to position your body for the maximum in horse control with the least amount of effort, and what I call "horse sociology", which is learning how to understand what the horse is thinking and why it is doing what it's doing so you can respond to it correctly.
Adult Lessons $50 For our younger students who are not able to ride for as long as adults, we adjust our time to about one hour or less. The structure of the lesson remains the same. Youth Lesson $35 |
Trail Rides Our trail rides include a short training session to learn how to properly control our horses, with the remaining time spent on the trails that wind through our beautiful Lockwood Valley.
We encounter a wide variety of native wildlife on our journey. Often there are jackrabbits (though no jackelopes yet, we'll keep looking!), various songbirds, quail, squirrels, lizard and deer. Even if the animals aren't found nearby, the evidence they leave behind also tells a story. Bobcat, coyote, fox and other more secretive creatures leave behind tracks on the trails we follow.
Trail Ride: $50 For longer rides and group discounts, please call the Alliance at (661) 245-4000 or send an email to redknight@jameszoppe.com. |
